Jennifer M. McCormick, Esq. joined The Phia Group, LLC as corporate counsel in 2008. She is admitted to the Bar of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. As an attorney with The Phia Group, Jen concentrates on a variety of healthcare and regulatory issues facing employee benefit plans and their administration. In addition, she focuses on health plan document design and drafting matters affecting employers, third party administrators, stop loss carriers, and health carriers. She is a constant contributor to The Phia Group’s webinars and other educational media.
Jen earned her J.D. from the Syracuse University College of Law, with certificates in Estate Planning and Family Law, and her B.A. in both Psychology and Criminal Justice from Indiana University, graduating with distinction as a National Dean’s List Scholar. While attending Syracuse, Jen served as an Intercollegiate Director of the Moot Court Honor Society and as a Student Attorney in the Low Income Taxpayer Clinic where she counseled clients on state and federal tax matters and the US Tax Court appeals process.

Attorney
Jennifer joined The Phia Group as Corporate Counsel in June 2011. She is admitted to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and is in the application process to be admitted to the New York Bar. As an attorney with The Phia Group, Jen consults with employee benefit plans on a variety of matters, including health care reform, wellness benefits, claims analysis, and general employee benefits matters. In addition, she drafts health plans and consults on contractual issues affecting plans and stop loss carriers.
Prior to joining The Phia Group Jen worked in a variety of practice settings, gaining litigation experience from large and small law firms, the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office, and with the in-house legal department for a major environmental services company headquartered in Massachusetts. She has also volunteered with the Medical Legal Partnership in Boston and has successfully represented a case before the Massachusetts Board of Unemployment.
Jen earned her J.D. from Suffolk University Law School and her M.B.A. from the Sawyer Business School at Suffolk University. She earned her B.S. from Northeastern University, graduating summa cum laude.
Shauna White

Shauna White started her career at the Phia Group, LLC in 2006 as a Claim Recovery Specialist. In this role, Shauna investigated potential subrogation opportunities, and pursued reimbursement from Plan members, insurance carriers, and their attorneys. Shauna recently joined The Phia Group’s Legal Team as Legal Administrator. In this position, she assists attorneys with complex subrogation matters and researches various health care related topics.
Shauna graduated from Suffolk University with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and is a J.D. candidate at Suffolk University Law School, Class of 2012.

Chris Aguiar started his career as a Claims Recovery Specialist with The Phia Group, LLC in 2005. Over the next 5 years, Chris investigated potential subrogation opportunities, pursued reimbursement from Plan members, insurance carriers, and their attorneys dealing with complex State & Federal issues as well as the preemption benefit offered to private self funded employee benefit plans. Chris recently joined The Phia Group’s Legal Team as Legal Administrator. In this position, he assists attorneys with complex subrogation matters and researches various health care related topics.
Chris graduated from Suffolk University with a bachelor’s degree in Government and is a J.D. candidate at Suffolk University Law School, Class of 2014.
