Chief Executive Officer
Adam V. Russo, Esq. is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of The Phia Group LLC; an innovative cost containment and consulting leader in the health insurance industry. In addition, Attorney Russo is the founder and managing partner of The Law Offices of Russo & Minchoff, a full-service law firm with offices in Boston and Braintree, MA.
Attorney Russo’s practice is devoted to representing employers, plan fiduciaries, third-party administrators and carriers in employment and employee benefits matters throughout the United States. He is a frequent speaker and author on health care and employee benefits topics at webinars, conferences and seminars across the country. Attorney Russo’s industry leading blog, www.passionforsubro.com is regularly updated with news and information relevant to the entire healthcare industry.
Attorney Russo obtained a Juris Doctorate degree from Suffolk University Law School and a Masters Degree in Finance from the Frank Sawyer School of Management at Suffolk University in Boston, Massachusetts. He also acquired an undergraduate degree from Suffolk University, where he double majored in Political Science and Public Relations. He was recognized by Suffolk University with the 2005 Outstanding Alumni Achievement Award.
Attorney Russo is the Contributing Editor to Thompson Publishing Group’s Employer’s Guide to Self-insuring Health Benefits. Recently, Attorney Russo accepted SIIA’s invitation to join their prestigious Health Care Committee along with 20 other senior executives within the self-insurance industry. In addition, he is an advisor to the Board of Directors at the Texas Association of Benefit Administrators (TABA), Board Member of SIIA’s Health Care Committee, National Association of Subrogation Professionals (NASP) Legislative Task Force member, and a member of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Corporate Leadership Advisory Council.
Attorney Russo is admitted to the Massachusetts Bar and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.
Michael A. Branco

Principal
Michael A. Branco is the co-founder of The Phia Group, LLC. Mr. Branco has an extensive technology background and is the visionary behind The Phia System™. Mr. Branco has had years of experience in sales and marketing, beginning his career with Thompson Research, and later becoming a Senior Sales Executive with Bancware, an international software conglomerate. As a Senior Sales Executive, Mr. Branco conducted complex international business transactions in three languages (Michael is fluent in English, Portuguese, and Spanish).
Mr. Branco is a graduate of Suffolk University’s School of Management, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. Mr. Branco is also a member of the National Association of Subrogation Professionals and is a frequent speaker on business topics.
Ron E. Peck, Esq.

Senior Vice President and General Counsel
Ron Peck is an attorney with The Phia Group, LLC, and has been a member of The Phia Group’s team since 2006. As an attorney with The Phia Group, Ron has been an innovative force in the drafting of improved benefit plan provisions, handled complex subrogation and third party recovery disputes, and spearheaded efforts to combat the steadily increasing costs of healthcare. In addition to his duties as counsel for The Phia Group, Ron leads the company’s consulting, marketing, and legal departments. Finally, Ron assists in the management of the entire organization.
Ron has lectured at and participated in many industry gatherings such as NASP’s Litigation Skills Conference, HCAA, SIIA, and TABA. Ron is also frequently called upon to educate plan administrators and stop-loss carriers regarding changing laws and strategies. Ron’s theories regarding benefit plan administration and healthcare have been published in many industry periodicals, and have received much acclaim. Prior to joining The Phia Group, Ron was a member of a major pharmaceutical company’s in-house legal team, a general practitioner’s law office, and served as a judicial clerk. Ron is also currently of-counsel with The Law Offices of Russo & Minchoff.
Ron obtained his Juris Doctorate from Rutgers University School of Law and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Policy Analysis and Management from Cornell University.
Boris Senic

Vice President, Claim Management
Boris Senic has been a member of The Phia Group’s family since 2003. One of The Phia Group’s minor league system success stories, Boris began his career filing and moved up the corporate ladder through hard work, a true passion for subrogation and a strong dedication to the company. Over the years, Boris has polished his skills in various departments of the company enabling him to now focus on the effectiveness and efficiencies of the company’s processes.
In his current role, he oversees the Implementation process for any new clients joining The Phia Group’s wide array of services and is a leader in improving the company’s overall business stance as it pertains to its processes, services, and the industry as a whole. His focus at Phia is to decrease costs through innovative technologies and develop new ideas for uncovering recovery opportunities. He had his article “How to Weather the Economic Crisis with Subrogation” published in NASP’s 2010 winter issue of the Subrogator magazine.
Boris was a scholar-athlete and part of the National Honors Society. He graduated from Merrimack College with a Bachelors degree in Arts, with concentrations in Business Administration and Political Science.
Melanie Yates

Vice President, Recovery Services
Melanie Yates joined The Phia Group in 2001. Melanie began her career at Phia as a Claim Recovery Specialist where she handled subrogation files for various clients and was quickly promoted to Case Manager. Due to her knowledge and dedication to the company she was promoted to Vice President of Client Account Management.
In this role, she manages various departments to maintain a smooth workflow and quality control. In addition, Melanie developed a progressive internal operations plan to oversee an efficient results-driven employee team.
Melanie graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science. She is also a Certified Subrogation Recovery Professional (“CSRP”).
Julie Martin

Vice President, Recovery Services
Julie Martin began her career with The Phia Group, LLC functioning as a Claims Recovery Specialist. Julie’s primary responsibility was the investigation of potential subrogation opportunities, obtaining accident details, and pursuing reimbursement from Plan members, insurance carriers, and their attorneys.
In 2005, Julie proved her mastery of Subrogation knowledge by earning a Certified Subrogation Recovery Professional (“CSRP”) certification. Shortly thereafter, Julie was promoted to a Case Manager position which transitioned her into her current role as Vice President, Recovery Services. In this role, Julie supervises the Claims Recovery Specialists, consisting of multiple levels. She also manages the Overpayment Department and collaborates on applicable procedures directly with the owners of the company.
Julie has always demonstrated an interest in law, graduating from Bridgewater State College with a degree in Criminal Justice. In her spare time Julie enjoys reading and spending time with family and friends.

Corporate Counsel & Vice President of Phia Group Consulting
Jennifer M. McCormick, Esq. joined The Phia Group, LLC as corporate counsel in 2008. She is admitted to the Bar of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. As an attorney with The Phia Group, Jen concentrates on a variety of healthcare and regulatory issues facing employee benefit plans and their administration. In addition, she focuses on health plan document design and drafting matters affecting employers, third party administrators, stop loss carriers, and health carriers. She is a constant contributor to The Phia Group’s webinars and other educational media.
Jen earned her J.D. from the Syracuse University College of Law, with certificates in Estate Planning and Family Law, and her B.A. in both Psychology and Criminal Justice from Indiana University, graduating with distinction as a National Dean’s List Scholar. While attending Syracuse, Jen served as an Intercollegiate Director of the Moot Court Honor Society and as a Student Attorney in the Low Income Taxpayer Clinic where she counseled clients on state and federal tax matters and the US Tax Court appeals process.
